THE TAI-CHI MASTER Stars: Jet Li, Michelle Yeoh, Chin Siu Ho, Fennie Yeun Synopsis: Tipped off by Tempo, the underground escapes one raid by the eunuchs. Tempo suggests they attack the eunuchs. The underground is routed because Tempo actually is working for the eunuchs. Jumbo is distressed. He suffers a nervous breakdown. It takes a good deal of Chiulin's effort and time to get back to shape. By the time, Tempo has become a violent and bloody tool of the eunuchs. Jumbo gives him a last chance but is rebuffed. And, in a no holds barred fight, Jumbo kills Tempo and Chiulin kills the top eunuch. Jumbo retires into the maintains of Wutang where he establishes the Taoist School of the Octagon (Tai Chi). Comments: This is simply a classic wire-fu movie by Yuen Wo-Ping – It’s just that simple! Actions from the start to finish. Highly recommended for fans of Yuen Wo-Ping – If you like “Iron Monkey” and “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”, this is not exception. [5/5]
TOKYO RAIDERS Stars: Tony Leung Chiu-Wai, Ekin Cheng, Kelly Chen, Cecilia Cheung Synopsis: On the marriage day of Macy, her bridegroom Takahashi does not show up. Macy comes to Tokyo to look for him. She meets Tommy, an interior designer who wants to collect debt from Takahashi, and Lenny, a private eye who is hired by a gangster boss to spy on Takahashi. During the investigation, these three persons soon find that they are in conflict with the Japanese underworld gang. Comments: This movie is a hell of a ride! Highly
entertaining and fast moving with non-stop actions from the start to finish.
If nothing else, the cinematography and soundtrack make this is a definite
must own title. Highly recommended. [4.5/5] |
